RF Exposure Assessment for Various Poses of Patient Assistant in Open MRI Environment
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this study, the radio-frequency (RF) energy exposure of patient assistants was assessed for an open magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system based on numerical computations head and body RF coil. Various poses were defined to see how poorly they affected exposure. For assessments, peak spatial-averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) levels carefully compared with each assistant pose finite-difference time domain calculations coil models when placed in such coils a 0.3 Tesla MRI system. Overall, SAR much lower than those patient. However, significantly increased observed under conditions, including larger loop size assistants’ arms closer distance coils. A comparably high level patient’s also found. More careful investigations are needed prevent increase systems at higher field strengths.

15 صفحه اول3-D RF Coil Design Considerations for MRI
High-frequency coils are widely used in medical applications, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. A typical medical MRI includes a local radio frequency transmit/receive coil. This coil is designed for maximum energy transfer or wave transfer through magnetic resonance. Mutual inductance is a dynamic parameter that determines the energy quantity to be transferred wirelessly by ele...
متن کاملAssessment of the Characteristics of MRI Coils in Terms of RF Non-Homogeneity Using Routine Spin Echo Sequences
Introduction: One of the major causes of image non-uniformity in MRI is due to the existence of non-homogeneity in RF receive and transmit. This can be the most effective source of error in quantitative studies in MRI imaging. Part of this non-homogeneity demonstrates the characteristics of RF coil and part of it is due to the interaction of RF field with the material being imaged...
متن کاملMorphing and Posing of Computational Anatomical Models: Enhanced Patient-Specic MRI RF Exposure Prediction
Synopsis The current MRI safety standards for exposure to radiofrequency elds are conservative and intended to protect the entire patient population. Limits set on whole-body average specic absorption rate take the patient’s weight into consideration, which allows robust, but only very rudimentary patientspecic exposure estimation. The introduction of combined morphing and posing in compu...
